Gandhi Jayanti : 2nd October - Gandhiji Birthday 2017 Holiday & Activities

We all Indian know that Gandhi Jayanti is a national festival celebrated in India and few neighbouring countries to mark the occasion of the birthday of mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi is also called father of the nation because of his great contribution in the freedom of india. Gandhi Jayanti is also one of the three national holidays that is celebrated in India with great joy. The day when Gandhi Jayanti celebrated every year that is 2nd October, that same day united Nation general assembly adopted in 15 June 2007 as international Day of nonviolence.


This is a great coincidence was also full supporter of nonviolence and given his whole life for the freedom of India. Many activities during Gandhi Jayanti are performed all over the India and its union territories especially in front of Gandhiji Memorial in New Delhi. In India every state has a big gandhi Murti where every year on 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated. In many schools and colleges as well as in government institutions also different kind of activities and projects are organised along with painting and essay competitions for kids. Prize Distribution and other ceremonies are also organised along with gandhiji speech followed by hindu devotional song that is raghupati Raghav Raja Ram in his memory.
